Course Description

Stata is a powerful statistical package with innovative data-management facilities, a wide array of up-to-date statistical methods, and an excellent system for producing publication-quality tables and graphs. Stata is fast and easy to use. This course will focus on regression basics and modeling linear and non-linear regression relationships using Stata, and it will do this without any complicated equations or mathematics. For the sake of beginners, the course will start with a comprehensive introduction to the Stata interface and data manipulation and then carefully provide a solid foundation on how regression modeling works in Stata. This course will consistently focus on creating a “good practice” and emphasizing the practical application methods, programming codes, and interpretation of the Stata printout.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

• Master and navigate the Stata environment
• Conduct power analysis, including sample size and effect size calculation in Stata
• Build linear regression model in Stata and interpret
• Learn and understand how logit and probit models work in Stata
